National ArboretumNational Zoo
IKEA : Little kids can play in the ball pit in the 2nd floor showroom. There's a height requirement for the kid drop off play area.
College Park Aviation Museum : Many hands-on activities for the preschool set make this a fun outing.
- National Aquarium of Baltimore : A trip to the Aquarium requires some fortitude: it can be very busy with many people crowded around the tanks and strollers are not allowed. The wonder of seeing so many fish makes it worthwhile though.
- Rock-n-Romp : Kid-friendly rock shows!
- PG Pool : "The Cool Pool." The Prince George's Community Pool is cooperatively owned and run by its members. It's not a for profit entity or underwritten by any government source. It is located in in Mt. Ranier and is walking distance (for the healthy) or a 5 minute drive (for the rest of us) from Hyatsville. Amenities include a large toddler pool, 50 m swimming pool, diving well, outdoor grills, lots of grass and shade.
- Hyattsville Library : Morning and evening storytime for babies, toddlers and/or preschoolers. Also check out other nearby libraries like New Carrollton, Laurel, Mt. Ranier (information available on the same Web page as this link).
