Magruder Park Entrance on Hamilton St.This is a featured page

Go back to the Safety Report Table of Contents.

SITE DESCRIPTION:

Four roads enter this intersection. Cars, particularly coming along Hamilton St. from the direction of Queens Chapel Rd. approach this intersection at high speeds. Although there are stop signs at each of the entry points, cars are reluctant to let pedestrians (often parents with strollers leaving or entering the park) or bikers have right of way. Pedestrians and bikers must be aggressive in order to get across.

Recommendations

  • Intersection improvements?
  • Magruder Park needs to be signed at the entrance to indicate the existing in-park trail connection to N.W. Branch Trail
  • Bridge over NW Branch from Magruder Park to North Brentwood?
  • Better signage for existing bike parking at the "club house"
