Q. When is Garbage Pickup? Recycling? Bulk Trash?A. Click on this link -
City of Hyattsville Public Works - This page pretty much tells you everything you need to know. For
recycling, you can mix most items (metal, glass, #1 to #7 plastics, etc.) into one bin as it is separated at the
recycling center. P.G. County prefers if residents would bundle their paper items. Lastly, bulk trash is on Wednesday and you should call DPW first at 301-985-5032.
Q. Who do I contact with problems?A. The City of Hyattsville has five Wards, each with two Councilmembers.

- Hank’s Tavern and Eats (good food and beer, Dale’s on tap among others; if you like Chef Geoff’s Downtown in DC, you’ll probably like Hank’s)

- Rhode Island Reds (this is a unique joint with odd hours; you might find someone playing music or Fellini on the TV)
- Shagga Coffee and Restaurant (Ethiopian; on Sunday’s I believe they have a coffee roasting extravaganza)

Q. Where can I sign my kids up for sports and scouting in the neighborhood?
A. St. Jerome's Church runs
Cub Scout and
Boy Scout programs.
Recreational youth sports are offered by numerous local groups.
Q. Where can I get good organic food?A. On Tuesdays there is the
Hyattsville Farmers Market. Thursdays is the
Riverdale Park Farmers Market. Check out the
Farmers Market page to see other in the area. You can also go to
Glut in Mt. Rainier as well as

Q. Is there a local Library?A.
Hyattsville Public LibraryThe Hyattsville branch of the Prince George's County Memorial Library System. This site has an online catalog with an excellent selection of books and movies. Go and see the UFO that landed at the entrance and then sign out a book or movie. Their new catalog/database has some great features. You can reserve material, conduct better searches, create wish lists, view account activity, renew items, and remove nasty stains.

Hyattsville Royale 14 Movie Theatre.
Q. What about shopping for a bike or some yarn or a quirky gift?A. You can get your knitting supplies at
A Tangled Skein. Buy some wheels or have your wheels serviced at
Arrow Bicycle. And check out Franklin's General Store next to the restaurant. Q. Are there other building supply stores than Home Depot? A.
